The UAE is a federation that consists of seven emirates located on the Arabian Peninsula between the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Abu Dhabi being the capital, the federation consists of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Fujairah.
Though the national language is Arabic, English and several Asian languages are widely used, particularly in commerce. Islam is the state religion. The main population centers are the cities of Abu Dhabi (the capital) and Dubai. The population of the UAE has exceeded 4,104,695 million according to the 2005 census. This can be contributed to the UAE having an open economy with one of the highest annual individual incomes in the world; it also has a large trade exchange with various countries worldwide that contributes sufficiently to its national income. However, crude oil and natural gas are the main sources of the country's income, forming approximately 33% of the annual local production.
The phenomenal growth of the UAE property market has seen the country emerge as the commercial centre of the Middle East. The rapid economic growth of the UAE, which can in turn be attributed to the UAE's position as one of the world's most preferred tourist destinations has also fueled the demand for UAE property. Property in the UAE, whether apartments, villas, or commercial property continues to witness increasing demand and has made the country the centre of all the property action in the world today.
